The AGC promotes the beautification of the villages, parks, gardens,c islands, and town properties. AGC in cooperation with the Town of Bourne provide funding for plants, shrubs, signage, and soil materials. Club members design, plant, and maintain numerous gardens, planters, and urns throughout the town. Many of our gardens are Pollinator Pathway Cape Cod (PPCC) gardens.
Aptucxet Trading Post Museum Gardens
Three Historic Gardens have been preserved and maintained by club members for many years. These PPCC gardens include the Wildflower Collection Garden, 1627 Herb Garden, and Three Sisters’ Garden.
Jonathon Bourne Library
Jonathan Bourne Public Library is located in Bourne Village across the street from Briggs-McDermott House. In addition to designing and maintaining urns outside the library entrance, members installed a flagpole pollinator garden in 2024. Many of the shrubs, both native and non-native, are loved by pollinators.
Main Street Planters in Buzzards Bay
AGC members plant and maintain 4 large and 13 medium size self-watering planters along Main Street and in front of Town Hall. They work with the Town Administrators, Department of Public Works, and the Cape Cod Canal Region Chamber of Commerce to fund, plant, water, and maintain decorative planters that beautify downtown Buzzards Bay.
